A George III Landscape Mirror

Intended to sit above a mantelpiece these mirrors, where the width is greater than the height, are always harder to find than others. This example is of a superior quality than most and this is clearly illustrated by the depth of the carving and the detailed nature of the design. This is particularly evident in the vine climbing up the columns that divide the three plates and it is exactly this three dimensionality that marks out a good mirror.
