A Pair of Early Nineteenth Century Ormolu Mounted Sevres Vases

Though eighteenth century in inspiration, the popular demand in the nineteenth century for the ‘Bleu Nouveau’ ground porcelain, mounted in ormolu, was so great that Sevres continued production at the same high quality..  The present vases follow a particularly popular Sevres model from the 1780’s and are mounted in ormolu by Marchand Merciers like Daguerre.
