A Rare Set of Eight Carved Mahogany Armchairs
Provenance: Private Collection, London, UK.
Circa: 1780
A very fine set of Hepplewhite period chairs with shield backs carved with neoclassical motifs typical of the period, including urns and paterae, and out-swept arms carved with bell flowers.
This set of armchairs has been in a private collection for over 50 years. They are of very fine quality and in outstanding condition. To find carving on the arms of a set of this period is exceptional.
